Destan Synopsis:
Destan (English title: Epic) is a Turkish-produced historical and fictional television series signed by Bozdağ Film and whose first episode aired on November 23, 2021, directed by Prince Khalilzad and written by Nehir Erdem and Aisha Ferda Erelmes . Ebru Şahin, Edip Tebeli and Selim Bayraktar star in the series. The series was created as fiction inspired by some epics rather than historical reality.
The series’ advisors are Professor Dr. Ahmet Tasagil, Head of the Department of History, Yeditepe University, Head of the Department of Philosophy, History and Philosophy of Science, Akdeniz University. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Dogrokan, Department of History, Dokuz Eylul University, Head of the Department of General Turkish History, Prof. Erkan Goksu.
The epic love between Akkız, the legendary mountain warrior girl orphaned by Gök Kagan Korkut Khan on the harsh plains of Central Asia, and Gök Tegini Batuga, orphaned by Korkut Khan in the Gök Palace; It’s about these two strange birds’ love to achieve the impossible by crafting swords and their hearts as shields.
Destan, which appeared as a historical series, was first announced as Akkız Epic. The series, rumored to be on screen under the name Destan, is about a story going back in time. A story set in the ninth century, before the Turks embraced Islam, forms the main theme of Dastan. In the story between Akkız, the mountain warrior girl who is orphaned by Gök Khan Korkut Khan and Gök Tegini Batuga who is orphaned by Gök Khan Korkut Khan; Time will show how these two people achieved the impossible with the love that grew between them.
